travel wif love

I was looking thru my mum's passport... realized that she's only been to few countries...hongkong, china, thailand, Indonesia n Malaysia...wif my dad n relatives n frens... I'm a travel fan...been many places...yet I've not really travelled wif my mum...only once to a famosa abt 10 years ago... "Mummy, I really love you." I finally took de courage to tell her tonite.. but she can't respond... Losing my mum so soon is so unexpected...it's been a year n I'm still trying to cope wif de truth...

pattaya... is really a red light district filled with nite life along the streets... as i strolled & observed, i can only feel pathetic towards de thai gals who have to give up their life for a living... old ang mohs holdin young thai gals is a common scene... thai gals touting for ang mohs as they past by their shops is common too... every massage parlour looks sleazy from de outside & almost every guy wld expect 'special' service when they step in (i had a hard time trying to find a decent one to enjoy my thai massage..had my legs all bruised during my last foot massage)...certainly not de best place for thai massage!

nonetheless, i still enjoy de carefree walk & tan & jetski along pattaya beach.. had sandfly  bites on my legs thou :(

& travelling ard on our own bike @ 200 baht rental per day.. haha i managed to try riding awhile on my own!!

this must be de most dramatic trip i've had in my life!

vocalnic ash flight cancellation alert on mon... ironic thing is my flight is still scheduled BUT i stil...
missed my flight on wed morn & am only able to get replacement tix (luckily itz free) for thu morn...
my fren is so upset wif de whole episode she xxxxx @ de airport...
so itz 1 night less in rome (& gotta miss my pre-booked vatican city tour) - hope i can stil send my postcards there
spending £3 x 3 to print boarding pass...not to mention findin a hotel nearby to stay

just hope de rest of my trip wil be smooth sailing *pray*

p.s. managed to find a room @ holiday inn near de airport...and slept fr 3-10pm local time! tryin to get enuf rest for a super packed day tmr...

aussie 2009 to 2010

ha read ying's blog on her europe 2006 trip while planning my itinerary over last wkend...am SO SO SO motivated to log my unforgettable trip in brisbane & cairns :p

was looking fwd to my first trip where i spent xmas & NY outta SG...tot i could party til i drop BUT NOPE, I DIDN'T quite...

Day 1: 25dec09, brisbane city (闷!)

had a bOring xmas countdown on de plane (miss my rebel pre-xmas nite gals), followed by thorough customs checks asking me & frens lotz of questions u wld expect dem to ask chinese immigrants (ya, itz true they are r*cist), then found ourselves walkin on a dead town (literally de shops @ queen street mall are all closed)...we took lotz pics here to kill time!

Day 2-4: 26-28dec09, gold coast (狼狈!)

met unpredictable weather while moving to gold coast on 2nd day...jus imagine sunshine on this street, cross the street we had to pull on our windbreakers and get almost drenched (n stil have to pull our luggage)!

v complains "this is the time when we need a guy" and i totally agree...haha

we had de impression that seaworld, movieworld & dreamworld are nex to one another & it wld be accessible by train/bus...we r completely wrong! spent AUD100s to reach our hotel @ marina quays international after lugging our luggage up and down everywhere! phew de cab meter makes our heart jump wif it every second! v got sick of de rides @ movieworld (me too..) so we skipped both dream & sea worlds...

what wows us here is de surfer's paradise waves..my untanned bum was exposed for a second when de wave "pounced" on me! *embarrased* this is also where we saw a bunch of hunks (approx 20 of dem) running towards us! but haha dey are jus training (swim, run, swim, run..)

Day 5-6: 29-30dec09, sunshine coast (温心)

Amamoor!

countryside is always warm & much betta! we were greeted by warm hosts @ aussie B&B...tis is where we get a real taste of aussie living and nature...had campfire, tried de horse rein, galloped up & downhill on y'saw, fed charlie, played wif nipper, and danced & sang wif john & cynthia

simple & lovely experience *muaks*

Day 7: 31dec09, hervey bay (难忘)

fed de wild dolphins @ tin can bay (never tot 'free willy''s skin is so rough & patchy + needa pay AUD5 for de fish..wonder how much de 2 dolphins eat everyday wif de queue!)...continue to meet nice peeps @ winery...de wine really tastes great and is cheap (AUD15 to 20 each)! we brought some back home :X

guess we were too busy viewing de 4WD & handsome hunks on rainbow beach we forgot to book our fraser tour de following day haha! nonetheless, spent our new year's eve searching for package + dinner (ya most stopped serving at 9pm)

finally head to beach party for countdown (recommended by a young waitress @ mexican restaurant)...was expecting some sort of aussie zoukout but nope, itz more like party @ de padang! had great fun circling myself around de big field! met a young aussie cute BOY named michael who's 18! gosh think i scared him when i told him to add 10 to the age he guessed i am! keke

Day 8: 1jan10, fraser island (叹为观止!)

wat a great start to de year! sk was fined for speeding & v fined for not wearing de seat belt @ de backseat haha! v stil dares to ask de policeman how to get to fraser island when she's booked...anyway, these are exact conversation of sk (driver) wif policeman:

rest of day was simply splendid & awesome! fraser is the largest sand island & no one swims there as there are lotz of sharks & killer fish! and we learnt not to drive 4 wheel on our own as there's accident every other day due to de steep & winding roads

Day 9-11: 2-4jan10, cairns (刺激, 好玩!)

excitement starts the moment we drive up north from hervey to cairns @ 8pm, with only half tank petrol & no dinner, thinking that there wil be lotz petrol stations & restaurants along de bruce highway...luckily there were 3 of us driving, and we get to rotate every 2 hrs drive...itz a great experience...15 hrs up north, lotz of high beams, 160kmh on a toyota corolla (from europcar), lotz of dead wallabys on de road

you have never been to cairns if you dont sky dive & scenic ride & snorkel here!

de fishes were all swimming around me ;) tried scuba dive but nearly drowned! had a deep cut before my failed scuba =...(

Day 12: 5jan10, home sweet home

we are lucky to start wif brisbane and end wif cairns!

and if i have a choice, i wanna return to amamoor lodge & visit other reefs @ cairns! de aussies also recommend diving @ agnes water...i MUST return to aust (despite de occassional stares & jeers) cos i din get to see any nude beach or kangaroos or koalas or sharks or whales or penguins or sea turtles!
