家後 (gei ao)

Came across this song "wife" (家後) when pub singer 民雄 sang to his wife at a variety show...for de fact that his wife married and stood by him when he's poor and low, how they survive a near divorce, how he's gonna hold her hand and take care of her... didn't manage to find de clip, but he really has got a great voice =)

although de original singer is 江惠, i prefer de male rendition...by shy shy 敬腾 *hiaks hiaks*

keke, look at de way he dance for de last song! so cute omg!

this version is also nice... de gal 黎礎寧 recently committed suicide cos of love matters... alamak she's so pretty, so talented...itz really not worth ending her life...but then perhaps this is her destiny? it's fated ba

if you listen carefully to de lyrics (that is if you understand), de song speaks of an ordinary marriage, ordinary life, ordinary couple, ordinary happiness...and there's grandpa asking grandma to leave first cos he doesnt bear to see her tear for him...

itz as touching as de movie 'ps i love you' =)

Hey~我真的好想你 不知道你现在到底在哪里

too much TV = unhappiness?

NEW YORK:

Happy people spend a lot of time socialising, going to church and reading newspapers - but they do not spend a lot of time watching television, a new study has found.

That is what unhappy people do.

The University of Maryland analysed 34 years of data collected from more than 45,000 participants and found that watching TV might make you feel good in the short term, but is more likely to lead to overall unhappiness.

'The pattern for daily TV use is particularly dramatic, with 'not happy' people estimating over 30per cent more TV hours per day than 'very happy' people,' the study said.

'Television viewing is a pleasurable enough activity with no lasting benefit, and it pushes aside time spent in other activities - ones that might be less immediately pleasurable, but that would provide long-term benefits in one's condition. In other words, TV does cause people to be less happy.'

The study, published in next month's issue of Social Indicators Research, analysed data from thousands of people who recorded their daily activities in diaries over the course of several decades. Researchers found that activities such as sex, reading and socialising correlated with the highest levels of overall happiness.

Watching TV, on the other hand, was the only activity that had a direct correlation with unhappiness.

'We looked at eight to 10 activities that happy people engage in, and for each one, the people who did the activities more - visiting others, going to church, all those things - were more happy,' said Dr John Robinson, co-author of the study. 'TV was the one activity that showed a negative relationship. Unhappy people did it more, and happy people did it less.'

The study said: 'TV is not judgmental or difficult, so people with few social skills or resources for other activities can engage in it.

'Furthermore, chronic unhappiness can be socially and personally debilitating and can interfere with work and most social and personal activities, but even the unhappiest people can click a remote and be passively entertained by TV. In other words, the causal order is reversed for people who watch television; unhappiness leads to television viewing.'

Unhappily married couples also watch more TV: '(Happily married couples) engage in 30per cent more sex, and they attend religious services more, and read newspapers on more days, while those not happy with their marriages watch more TV.'

Commenting on the study, Dr Robinson said the worsening economy could boost TV viewing.

'Through good and bad economic times, our diary studies consistently found that work was the major activity correlate of higher TV viewing hours,' he said.

Since the major predictor of how much time is spent watching television is whether someone works or not, Dr Robinson added, it is possible that rising unemployment will lead to more TV time.

shOrt getaway at genting

itz my 5th time to genting... probably my last cOs itz high time i save for other destinations!

itz still an enjoyable trip... sometimes itz really de company that matters ;)

must do's in genting:

1. bumper car till your leg's full of blue blacks!
2. solero shot @ 4 different angles
3. bet RM$100 on 大小 casino table
4. hit de jackpot! (now most machines only accept 'virtual' credits *sadz* as i almost fell asleep while playing cos there's no need to hold a cup to 'hop' de falling coins)
5. walk in de open or wind down your window while driving up (de cool air is super fresh!)

my recommendation:
3d2n (jus nice to explore almost everything), stay at first wOrld hotel (cheap and good and sometimes you get to hear your neighbours talk in de next room), rent a car and drive up (you can maximise your time by reaching early and leaving later, and travel in comfort), go in a group with people who loves thrilling rides, shopping, chilling out, casino (no xtreme shoppers or gamblers or gu-niangs pls), best is go with someone like them who keep you entertained, oh yeah...

hey, guess if i'm a boy or girl? do i look like a maplestory character?

oh ya while we travel along de malaysia highway, we came across SOS signs...

it actually means ⋅⋅⋅ – – – ⋅⋅⋅

yep, get it???!!!!

aiya, it doesnt mean anything lah!

itz not an acronym, it doesnt stand for assholes, save our sedan (what else can you think of?)

itz just letters representing an internationally recognised radio code to call or signal for help... chey!

2009 planner

itz de year end!

erhmm with de AIA saga, guess your agent will be more worried about his/her jOb than to get you a 2009 organiser? they earn your money to print that anyway *oh what de heck???!*

hOw about getting your own pOcket-size planner at S$2 Only?

i like it cOs it opens with a mini monthly calendar...
gee i have been using one to keep track of my deadlines for past 3 years (it can be pretty stressful to see it red with words at times - you get what i mean ya)...

reasOns why i gOt it (again):
itz small, handy, pretty (many designs to choose) and it fits nicely in my bag, pouch... itz made from recycled paper...good for de environment! and itz 2 bucks come on! (aiya gals alwaz have reasons to buy things ma...itz not a waste of money k)

and nOpe i didn't order online. i bought it from de bloomingtOn shop in anchorpoint (#b1-34, opposite ikea @ alexandra)...itz quite an interesting shop where you can find items like

and also hOt games meant for de couples (for those who wanna spicez up their xmas nights...hur can see some of your eyes brightening hahaha!)

and if you do not already know, these "where the unexpected happens" items dO not come as cheap as de planner though...

btw i personally lOve de decor @ de tcc boutique here...itz as far as i know de only cafe in s'pore dat allows you to machiam dine alfresco but with air-conditioning!

hmmm a recommended place to chit chat with frens or read a book... feels abit like you are overseas?

oh no realise i have been advertising for free lately >_<

she is very 细心and can take about an hour to complete de express mani & pedicure for every customer... keke not sure if itz a boom or bane for her bossie >_<

de salon uses OPI polish, so itz extremely worth it... you need not sign any package...

ur galfrens can chit-chat with you on this lazy couch while waiting for their turn!

remember to book an appointment wif dem as dey are usually packed, especially on weekends...

(she will when she's too anxious...i was de runner and have to standby with a few plastic bags to pre-empt her...omg cant imagine if she did on her big day!)

what de bride loved most for de day:

waiting in de master bedrm waiting for de groom to enter, and hearing de laughters de 姐妹s had gate-crashing with de 兄弟s... (keke, guess she's eager to join us in de hackering!)

what de groom loved most for de day:
de solemnisation... de bride answering "I will" before de JOP asks her officially!
(keke, she must be too nervous!)

a special dedication to the newly weds..."when you tell me that you loved me"...your solemnisation march-in song was perfect for de occasion...
